Pepper Plant Hot Sauce

Written by therightbabygear

This post is a little off topic but I just have to share with all of you about this hot sauce I tried when I was out at Pebble Beach a few weeks back.  We had a 10:00 & 10:10 tee time at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Course so the 8 of us got to the course a bit early to grab some breakfast at one of the restaurants.  We all ordered typical breakfast food such as eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc.  Once the food came out, they brought out bottles of this Chunky Garlic Hot Sauce made by a company called Pepper Plant.  I put hot sauce on everything so I just sprinkled this hot sauce on my eggs, not thinking too much of it, and then the flavor of the garlic just exploded in my mouth.  I had never tasted a hot sauce this good before.  The hot sauce wasn’t extremely hot but the combination of the garlic, sweetness, and spice was a flavor that I couldn’t get enough of.  All of my friends who tried loved it as well.

This particular hot sauce (Chunky Garlic), I believe, is made in Gilroy, CA.  Gilroy is the garlic capital of the US.  I know whenever I’m in northern CA and drive through Gilroy on the 101 freeway, you can smell garlic in the air.

After getting back from my trip, I searched the internet for the Chunky Garlic Hot Sauce from Pepper Plant and found a great website where I purchased a case.  The website is http://www.gilsgourmet.com/.  They not only sell hot sauce but other specialty foods as well.  Their shipping cost was very reasonable as well..a lot cheaper than other sites I found that carries this hot sauce.  Their website isn’t the best…some links either don’t work or it takes a long time for a page to load but just call them..they are very helpful.

Any hot sauce lovers out there?  What are your favorites and where can we purchase it from?
