My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow

Written by therightbabygear

What do you use to help support your back & arms while breast feeding?  I’m sure you’ve tried bed pillows, sofa cushions, rolled up towels and countless other props but they never seem to work because either they move around too much or simply isn’t the right height.  If you’re looking for something that’s stable and super comfy, try the Nursing Pillows from My Brest Friend.

Voted #1 by Lactation Consultants, these pillows features a wrap around design that secures to your body which maintains positioning of your baby to latch on.  It also has a back rest to promote good posture during feeding.  The arm and elbow rests relieve shoulder stress and the large pocket can store burp cloths, bibs, cell phone, etc.

Who uses a My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow or something similar.  Do you think its worth buying one?

I have only ever had a boppy. I didn’t really like it because I couldn’t squeeze it around me to fit in my rocking chair! I would end up prying myself out of the chair when I was done feeding and it just wasn’t fun.

My sister-in-laws both had preemies and preferred “My Brest Friend” over the Boppy. My Brest Friend was easier to use for them because it’s harder & sturdier (so less likelihood of rolling around and getting stuck between the nursing pillow and mom’s body), which was better for such small babies (~ 4 lbs).

I have a travel My Brest Friend so I can’t comment on the regular ones. I didn’t use it that much b/c there was a strong vinyl smell. I think if I remember correctly (I bought this over 3 yrs ago.) that b/c the slipcover was thin and the vinyl was directly under it, it doesn’t breathe well. But it’s a lot easier bringing this with you while traveling than any other kind of pillow. I liked how it was very snug b/c of the strap. I don’t remember how I liked the back support though.

I LOVE this pillow and have told many of my girlfriends to buy the same. My girlfriend bought a boppy and said it lost it’s shape and she ended up having to hunch over a lot of the time to feed her son. This pillow doesn’t loose it’s shape, it has a nice curve to hold the baby’s head up higher when they are small. I could nurse just about anywhere, chair, couch, floor, my bed where ever and it was comfortable. The cover cleans easy and the pocket was a nice convience.
